Puppy Class:Puppy class is for vaccinated puppies ages 8-18 weeks of age the first week of class. This class is designed to teach YOU how to train your dog. We concentrate on basic manners, handling and puppy obedience. We will assist you in dealing with common behavior issues such as jumping up, biting, chewing and housetraining. Puppy socialization is also a part of every session through the use of supervised playgroups. All training is done using a positive reinforcement technique know as "clicker training". This class includes HOMEWORK, a training manual and a certificate of completion. Come without your puppy to the first week of class so that we can get a head start on training YOU! 7 week class

Puppy Next Step Class: In this fun-filled 8-week class, we continue to build on the skills learned in Puppy class. This class is restricted to puppies between the ages of 18 weeks to 7 months of age at the time of the first class. It is also restricted to puppies that have also completed the Puppy class at PAWSitive Performance Dog Training. We continue to work on socialization, including supervised puppy playtime. However, in this class we put much more emphasis on obedience behaviors. Puppies will learn to polish the basic commands of Sit, Down, Stand, Come and Stay in a variety of distracting circumstances to build reliablility. We will work on calling puppies out of playtime and then using the life reward of releasing them back to play. Attention and focus on the owner will be a foundation for all the skills that we teach in this class. We will also emphasize basic good manner skill! s, such as polite greeting, "Leave It! " commands, loose leash walking and casual heeling with attention. Adolescence is a very challenging time for both you and your puppy -- learn how to harness all of that energy and prevent future behavioral problems so that you have an adult dog that you can confidntly take with you anywhere
