Donald Jankowski, Ph.D., CPDT, teaches Family Dog classes and Puppy classes at PAWSitive Performance Dog Training, and often works as an assistant in other classes. Don earned his Level 1 certification through the Certification Council for Pet Dog Trainers (or CPDT Certification) in September, 2003. Don is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT), and actively works to promote Rally Obedience as a member of the APDT's Rally-O-Executive Committee. In addition, he is a member of the Pets for Vets / PAWSitive Therapy Troupe Animal-Assisted Therapy program, which brings certified therapy dogs to patients at Hines Veterans Administration Hospital, Loyola University Medical Center, and several suburban nursing homes on a weekly basis. Don regularly attends APDT annual educational conferences and seminars, as well a other instructor training events offered throughout the country.

Don lives in Downers Grove with his wife Becky (Becky is the President and owner of PAWSitive Performance Dog Training), three Shelties and two parakeets. He and Becky both believe that positive reinforcement-based training methods using the principles of operant conditioning produce a trusting, confident and well-mannered dog. He utilizes clicker training in all of the classes that he teaches. Don's and Becky's "children" include,

"Rosie", a 7 year old blue merle Sheltie--U-AG2, U-CDX Rosie Blue Lady, CDX, AX (almost MX!), AXJ, OAC, NJC, FDCh, R1-MCL, TDIA and Delta Society Pet Partner.

"Emma", a 5 year old sable Sheltie--U-AG2 Rockliff Emma of Highbury, CD, AX, AXJ, HT, JHD, OAC, OJC, FDCh., R1-MCL, TDIA, Delta Society Pet Partner

"Bonnie" a year old blue merle Sheltie in training--Bryshire Spring Bluebonnet
